Actress Ufuoma McDermott Writes long epistles to apologize to former Guinness World Record cook-a-thon holder, Chef Lata
Nollywood actress Ufuoma McDermott apologized to former Guinness World Record cook-a-thon champion and Indian chef Lata Tondon on behalf of Nigerians.
Remember that Nigerians were cruel to Hilda Baci during her cook-a-thon competition to unseat Chef Lata, with many of them harassing her.
Ufuoma later apologized to her in-depth on her Instagram page and thanked her for opening doors for other young women to follow in their footsteps.
She mentioned how Chef Lata used a torch to illuminate a path, which is now visible to many.
Despite having her crown taken away, Ufuoma emphasized that she will always be regarded as the first woman to hold the record.
She hailed her as an inspiration and enjoined her to continue talking to young people about their aspirations.
“Today I choose to celebrate an inspiration @cheflatatondon. Because she did, our awesome #HildaBaci could Lata, you lit a torch to light a path and now many can see on that path.
First woman to hold a @guinnessworldrecords for the longest cooking by an individual is no mean feat.
Please forgive our overt excitement. We simply pointed out our own to “win”. But even our own has acknowledged that you were the inspiration for the journey.
Your title is NEVER lost. Posterity will remember that you were the first woman and you held it for a long time. In the same vein today. Hilda is inspiring many others. Keep speaking to young people about their dreams. Keep encouraging them. Because indeed, you are a beautiful inspiration”.
