Area boys stop and prevent Mr Latin from attending Murphy Afolabi’s burial venue
Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr. Latin, is a well-known comedic actor and film producer. However, ‘local guys’ barred him from entering the location of Murphy Afolabi’s funeral in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ikorodu.
According to The PUNCH, on Monday, May 15, 2023, a group of young people who identified themselves as “omo adugbo” asked that Mr. Latin “settle” them before they would provide him entry to the state’s burial place.
The Theatre Arts and Movies Practitioners Association of Nigeria President, Mr. Latin, arrived at the venue at 3:00 PM.
Later, the matter was settled, and Mr. Latin was given permission to visit Afolabi’s grave.
Recall that Murphy Afolabi, who turned 49 on May 5, passed away on Sunday as a result of a restroom accident.
The actor who was born in Osogbo was laid to rest in the Ikorodu residence in Mopelufa, opposite the Aleke bus stop, after the Adamo bus stop, on the Ijebu Ode route in Ikorodu.
Before his passing, he had made over 60 film appearances since entering the business in 2001. He was an Ire Polytechnic, Osun State, graduate.
He has appeared in the movies “Ifa Olokun,” “Omowunmi,” “Jimi Bendel,” “Wasila Coded,” “Olokiki Oru,” and “Idera.”
The late veteran actor loved to write scripts and make Yoruba-language movies, in addition to living an adventurous life filled with fun, happiness, and occasionally frightful events.
He served as the CEO of Fatuns Films Production throughout his lifespan. One of the legends that apparently affected Murphy’s career was the late Duro Ladipo.
