Atiku reveals why PDP is using Peter Obi image for campaign
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been accused of using the image of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to campaign in some northern States. This issue has been addressed by the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council.
Atiku Abubakar or his campaign team did not send it, according to PDP Campaign Council spokeswoman Daniel Bwala, although a PDP governor could have sent it.
On January 5, 2023, he clarified during an appearance with the Arise Television Morning Show program.
A video that went viral on social media included rice sacks with the PDP emblem and Obi’s face on them. Another one displayed PDP election posters in Bauchi state with the LP candidate’s face placed on them.
Bwala, who had joined the G-5 Governors, had learned that Governor Bala Mohammed of the Bauchi state may have been responsible.
He said; “That is not true to have emanated from us. Why I am saying that is because if you go to Bauchi now, people are even reporting that the Governor of Bauchi State is with the G-5. So, could he be behind that? Certainly no.”
