Yomi Fabiyi, a colleague of the Nollywood actor Olanrewaju James aka Baba Ijesha, has expressed his opinion on the case in response to the court decision that sentenced Baba Ijesha to 16 years in prison.
Yomi Fabiyi asserted in a statement to press that Baba Ijesha alone has the authority to appeal in an effort to contest the judge’s decision. He argued that the court had only found him guilty of a few of the accusations.
Fabiyi contended that the defendant should have the right to present every available line of defense.
He swore that the defendant had continued to plead innocent to the charges despite the verdict.
As we all know, Baba Ijesha was detained in 2021 for assaulting a child, and the case was led by Princess, a comedienne, and Iyabo Ojo, who maintained that justice must be done.
Even video of the act served as significant concrete evidence.
He is entitled to seek justice in a higher court if just some of the evidence is in his favor.
Baba Ijesha’s legal team has yet to inform the public whether he would appeal, so that will be a story for another day. The actor is currently incarcerated for 16 years as per the court’s decision.
