BREAKING NEWS: President-elect Tinubu returns to Nigeria after 10 days in Europe
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president, has returned to Nigeria after traveling to Europe, where he reportedly went to finalize preparations for his May 29 inauguration as president.
Today, Saturday, May 20, 2023, the President-elect landed at the Presidential Wing at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Along with other prominent party members and supporters, the President-elect was welcomed by the Vice President-elect, Kassim Shettima, Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Godwill Akpabio.
According to reports, the visit was a part of his efforts to work with some of his senior advisers to polish the transition plans and programs as well as his policy options.
The travel was required, according to a prior statement from the President-elect’s office signed by Tunde Rahman, so that Tinubu could do various responsibilities without undue stress or interruptions.
