Court Sentence man to three years in prison over theft of generator
A 21-year-old guy who stole has been given a three-year prison sentence by an Ondo Magistrate court in Akure.
Victor Isaac, the convicted felon, was charged with stealing a generating set worth N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira).
According to the prosecution’s attorney, Isaac committed the crime on January 8, 2023, along Imade Street in Akure’s affluent Ijapo Estate.
He admitted guilt to the single crime of theft and told the judge that he had sold the stolen generator for N9,000.
Tope Aladejana, the presiding Magistrate Court’s judge, found Isaac guilty and handed down a sentence of three years in prison without the possibility of a fine on Friday, January 20.
Kehinde Osadugba, the defendant’s attorney, begged the court to balance justice with mercy and appealed with the convict not to give the court a hard time.
