Agami Mudenda, a Zambian national, has been arraigned after being re-arrested following his stunning prison break.
According to Spring24 TV, he told the court that he escaped from jail to care for his children.
Mudenda, 32, allegedly escaped from a penitentiary facility in Choma town, Zambia, on February 18.
According to the middle-aged father, his primary motivation was to find a way out of the correctional institution since he was concerned about his children’s welfare while in detention.
Mudenda continued, “I couldn’t cope with the jail environment because life inside was very difficult for me.” According to local media accounts, the man was serving a six-month term for stealing.
The magistrate gave Mudenda’s case careful consideration and sentenced him to six months in prison with hard labor, which will run concurrently with his previous term.
