Debo Adedayo, commonly known as Mr Macaroni, a Nigerian comedy skit maker, actor, and activist, has vowed that he will continue to speak out against injustice and oppression in Nigeria.
Shortly after the terrible death of a Sokoto state student, the actor resorted to Twitter to express his thoughts.
He wrote that :
I said on National TV today; that the day I Debo Adedayo will stop speaking up against injustice and oppression or stop advocating for a better nation is the day I die. This cause is perhaps the greatest reason for my existence and I am grateful that this is my path.
Remember that a female student in Nigeria was beaten to death and set on fire by her classmates after they accused her of making “blasphemous” words in a WhatsApp group, according to two witnesses.
Following the attack, the school in Sokoto, Nigeria’s northern state, was immediately closed.
According to a spokeswoman for the Sokoto state command, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of the student, Deborah Samuel.
