IGP Usman Baba-Alkali begs Nigerian parents to Encourage your children to join police

Usman Baba-Alkali, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has advised parents to support their offspring’s decision to join the Nigeria Police Force.

On December 29, 2022, in Bauchi, Alkali announced the decision at the passing-out parade for police recruits who are part of the recruitment scheme for the 2022 cohort.

10,000 trainees who began their training across the nation are included in the passing out procession.

The IGP explained that the goal of enticing kids to choose a career in the military was to maintain the shared vision of a productive Police Force. He was represented by AIG Zone 12, Olokode Olawale.

“I call on all citizens to be law-abiding and parents to continue to encourage their children and wards to take interest in pursuing a career in the Nigeria Police Force.

“That remains the most veritable platform to contribute to the path of national service,” he said.

He stated that the passing out procession marked the culmination of six months of intensely demanding, demanding, physical, and intellectual training activities across the nation at four prestigious colleges and twelve Police Training Schools.

“It denotes the transfer of the recruits into professional policing tasks in the mainstream with the appropriate orientation to address new security concerns within the bounds of the rule of law.

According to Baba-Alkali, the significant investment made in the force continues to be a powerful source of inspiration that will re-energise it to commit to fulfilling the national policing mandate in accordance with President Mohammadu Buhari’s vision.

“I want to remind graduates that you are joining a reformed Police Force that is going through an ethical rebirth, a Force that is getting better and better resources, and one that is focused and oriented in the right ways.”

He claimed that such a force would carry the fight against crime to the stronghold of criminal elements out to undermine the shared values of liberty, peace, and security.

In light of this, he said, “I congratulate you all, welcome you to the large, strong, and tenacious Police family, and wish you a fruitful career as you begin your service in the Nigeria Police Force.

Baba-Alkali gave the people his word that a new police force with the necessary courage, obedience, and compassion was being formed with renewed vigor to carry out their legal obligations to uphold law and order and protect people and property.
