“You don’t want me to walk you home? It’s late.” Timi said cleaning his brushes and I shook my head removing the apron.
“You don’t have to, I can walk home by myself. You don’t have to stress yourself.” I replied and he smiled and looked at me.
“I am not stressing myself, I just need to make sure you arrive home safely. If anything happens to you, it’s on the company and indirectly to me. Your husband would question me and I don’t want that.” He added and I sighed.
“Mr. Timi I would be fine, thanks for your concern,” I replied and he nodded.
“Alright, I don’t want to force you. I would talk to Greg tomorrow.” He said and I nodded carrying my bag.
“Good Night,” I stated and he bobbed. I walked out of the gallery walking briskly. I knew it was late and it could be kind of dangerous.
I was too shy or proud to ask him to walk me home, I didn’t want him to interpret it as something else.
I looked back and I found him looking at me. I quickly got into the elevator and headed to the exit.
I busted out to the road and began to walk, it was high time I got a car of my own. I need to talk to victor about it.
I can’t keep walking all by myself at night, and Taxis aren’t even an option.
I kept walking, and got to a roundabout and turned. I saw these men sitting on a chair under the streets lights. They had drugs with them and they were smoking, they were four in number.
Immediately I saw them, I remembered what happened to me the first time I go to San Francisco. I swallowed hard and walked swiftly praying silently that they wouldn’t try anything stupid.
I got right in front of them and I saw two of them stand.
“Hey, beauty.” They greeted and I began to shiver, I couldn’t carry my heels well and I felt like I would fall off.
I refused to utter a word and I kept walking. Then I sighted the remaining two stand up and my heart leaped. I knew I was done.
“You don’t want us chasing your beauty.” They said and immediately, I got rid of my shoes and began to run. I held my bag tightly and ran without looking back.
“Somebody help!” I yelled in tears. I couldn’t believe I was going through that path again.
I needed someone to come to save my an*s, I needed Timi or Victor. Anybody!! Suddenly, a car stopped right in front of me and the door opened.
“Hop in right now!!” Timi yelled and without thinking, I jumped into the car. The men were catching up and Timi reversed and almost hit them making them stop.
We zoomed off and I held my chest breathing heavily. I was so scared and I couldn’t stop panting.
“Are you okay?” Timi asked and I nodded cleaning the tears in my eyes.
“Yes. Were you following me?” I asked and he nodded.
“Yes, I knew it wasn’t wise to let you go on your own. The town is dangerous, I couldn’t help it.” He stated and more tears rolled down my eyes.
“Thank you so much,” I said bowing my head and I felt his hand on mine.
“This isn’t the first time this is happening to me. I always get lucky but I am so scared I won’t be lucky next time.” I muttered and he shook his head.
“I promise you, nothing would happen to you. I would make sure you don’t stay this late at work, and I would give you a car of your own, from the company, that would help.” He said and I looked at him in surprise.
“You would give me a car?” I asked and he nodded.
“You need it, and the company should gift you one. Yes, I would give it to you.” He said and I held his hand in return.
“Thank you so much, I don’t know how to thank you enough,” I replied and he shook his head.
“You don’t have to thank me, Sharon, it’s your right.” He said and parked the car. We had gotten to the house already.
“Thank you so much for today, I appreciate you showing up at the right time,” I said and he smiled.
“It’s nothing. See you tomorrow.” He said and I nodded opening the door stepping out of the car. I waved at him and he zoomed off.
I walked to the corridor and pressed the doorbell waiting for Victor to open up.
The door opened and I smiled faintly walking into the house.
“Hey.” He said kissing my lips shortly.
“Hi,” I replied dropping my bag on the sofa.
“You came back late, I made dinner already.” He said and I sighed nodding.
“I almost got raped on my way Victor, I am traumatized,” I stated and his eyes widened. He moved closer to me and held my face up gently.
“Are you alright?” He asked and hugged me tightly and I rested my head on his chest.
“Yes, thankfully Timi came to save me,” I said and he disengaged looking at me.
“Who is Timi?” He asked.
“Oh, my new boss,” I said reaching for my bag tiredly.
“I never knew you had a new boss.” He uttered and I nodded.
“We haven’t had time to talk about my work Victor and you know it,” I said and he sighed.
“Yeah, won’t you eat?” He asked and I shook my head.
“I don’t have an appetite, I just want to lay down and I want you by my side,” I said caressing his face.
“I want that too baby, come on.” He said sweeping me off my feet and carrying me in a bridal style into the room.
I giggled as he dropped me on the bed and we kissed.
“I just want to sleep,” I mumbled against his lips and he nodded laying next to me.
“Come here.” He said pulling me into his arms and I placed my head on his chest.
I drifted into sleep and then I heard Victor’s phone ring making me wake up.
He stretched and reached for it and then didn’t answer it.
“Who is it?” I asked and he held me closer.
“It’s no one. You should go back to sleep.” He said and I nodded shutting my eyes again.
My heart skipped as I saw that Becca was the caller. Becca was something else, she knew very well that I would be with Sharon at the moment.
The phone began to vibrate again and I looked at Sharon to see she was asleep already.
I got her off me gently and crawled out of the bed taking my phone along with me. I walked out of the room carefully so that Sharon wouldn’t wake up.
As soon as I got to the living room, I picked up the call and looked on the way to the room before talking.
“Becca, what do you think you are doing?” I asked in anger.
“Hey, stop being so harsh. I can’t stop thinking about you.” She said and I sighed in frustration.
“Can you please stop me? I am with my wife! That was just a mistake.” I uttered in a whisper.
“Come to see me tomorrow, you don’t want me meeting with your wife, do you? Buy wine on your way here. I would see you at 7 pm.” She stated and hung up.
“F**k!!!” I yelled in a whisper.
