Lai Mohammed brings in sentiment-insist that Kwara State must be part of operation Amotekun.

The way insecurity in Nigeria has grown rapidly has raised concerns among Nigerians in the last few years. In the last few months, all the 6 geopolitical zones have particularly had regional forces against one another with ethnic groups across the country making case for their various regions.

The latest that has since kept the media space busy in the last month is the initiative by Southwest Governors’ Forum to curb the menace of insecurity that has befallen their people. The alarming rate of insecurity gave birth to “Operation Amotekun”, a security outfit put up by the Governors of the southwestern states to curtail the rise in killings in the southwest that has gained popular support by the person of the region.

It is against this backdrop that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed while speaking in an interview with DW’s Tim Sebastian on Social Media bill and National Security asserted that Kwara, a close friend of the southwest states must key into the Amotekun initiative to secure lives and properties in the state since the state is more of a Southwest state than North due to culture and tradition.

The Minister claimed Kwara is more of a southwest state than North and as such should work out modalities to adopt the security initiative in other to end insecurity challenges facing the country starting from the region.

Personally I agree with him because more than 70% of the state speaks fluent you rob a and this has made neighborkng youruba states (Osun, Oyo and Ekiti) indigenes to live in peace in side kwara state and do business without segregation.
