Police reportedly used tear gas on Peter Obi’s supporters as they marched in Ebonyi state today, September 17. Obi is the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
According to Channels Television, Peter Obi’s followers, popularly known as “Obidients,” gathered near Mile 50 for the rally before being prevented from entering the streets by police officers using tear gas.
Speaking to a news outlet, a man by the name of Nwali Ikechukwu reported that after security personnel used tear gas to storm the takeoff site, some people were hurt.
Nevertheless, the Ebonyi state police command has not yet responded to the event.
