Moment policemen brutalize woman for recording them as they assault a commercial driver [watch]
Because she was recording them while they allegedly assaulted a commercial driver in Lagos, men from the Nigerian Police Force were seen on video abusing a woman.
Sahara Reporters claims that the police are stationed at the state’s palace in the Illasan neighborhood of Lekki Phase 1.
A Twitter user who posted a video of the policeman beating the woman claimed she tried to record them while speaking to a truck driver.
She was being held by a security guard by her hair as his coworkers and several other bystanders attempted to help.
The worried social media user asked the police to confirm whether the woman had been released by the cops who had initially detained her.
He wrote; “@Gidi_Traffic Last week police men guarding the palace at Illasan, Lekki Phase 1, allegedly assaulted a lady for attempting to record them during a confrontation with a Uber driver. The lady’s phone was seized and she was also arrested. Has she been freed? @BenHundeyin @Princemoye1”
The Force Spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, responded to the video by stating that the state command should look into all relevant material.
Well, Ben will need to investigate this and take necessary action. We will need to get more facts about this scene as the video is not long enough to deduce some things. PPRO Lag should detail the PCB to look into this and revert. It has been sent to necessary units to handle,” the state PPRO said.
