On Tuesday, the Super Eagles were defeated by the Black Stars of Ghana due to away goal regulations.
A 1-1 tie at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday evening saw Ghana advance to the Qatar 2022 World Cup after beating Nigeria in the finals.
The Black Stars and the Super Eagles played to a 0-0 tie in the first leg, which took place last Friday in Kumasi.
Thomas Partey scored for Ghana and William Troost Ekong equalized for Nigeria with a penalty kick in Tuesday’s match, which ended up in a tie at the end of regulation time.
The injury-plagued Ndidi, who missed the African qualifying playoffs for the 2022 FIFA World Cup owing to a hamstring strain, took to Twitter to express his dismay and anguish at the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
