Nigerian Richest politicians and their net worth..Number 1 will shock you

Nigeria, despite being the world’s poorest nation, has some of the richest politicians in the world. Naturally, because the source of the wealth most politicians is usually undeclared, people are left to speculate.
The Nigerian richest politicians have either been in power or are still in power. Some were Governors, Senators or Heads of State. This article, however, is to bring to light the richest politicians in Nigeria, not to argue about their source of wealth.

1. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida GCFR (IBB)-NGN1.8 Trillion
The richest politician in Nigeria is a former Head of State,Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB). He was a military head of state from the 27th August 1985 to the 26th August 1993, when he handed over power to interim president, Ernest Shonekan. Prior to the coup that put IBB in power, he served in the capacity as the Chief of Army Staff under Military Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari. IBB was responsible for Nigeria joining the Organization for Islamic Cooperation in 1986. He also improved the economy to a large extent during his regime, which was almost in ruins after the last administration.

2.      Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR(OBJ)-NGN580.1 Billion
Olusegun Obasanjo, popularly referred to as OBJ is the 3rd richest politician and richest politician in the Southwest. OBJ started his political career as a federal commissioner, then a Chief of Staff, then a Federal Minister of Petroleum before becoming Vice president to late military head of state, Murtala Muhammed and later Head of State after a failed coup which killed Murtala Muhammed. OBJ as in power from 13th of February 1976 until 30th September 1796, when he handed over power to a civilian president, Shehu Shagari to start the second republic. OBJ later became a civilian president on the 29th of May 1999 until the 29th of May 2007. He owns a farm at Otta, Ogun state.
3.      Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu-NGN532.5 Billion
Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aka, Bourdillon of Lagos, Asiwaju of Lagos and Jagaban. The 67 years old politician was a former governor of Lagos state, from 29th of May 1999 to the 29th of May 2007. It is argued that Tinubu owns a large portion of Lagos and its economic revenue, which is the economic capital of the country. He is now a political Godfather in the All Progressives Congress. He is rumored to contest in the 2023 general election.

4.      Rochas Okorocha-NGN 507.6 Billion
Rochas Okorocha is currently a Nigerian Senator and a Former Governor of Imo state. He was governor from May 29th 2011 until May 29th 2019. He quickly moved from Imo to Abuja. The 57 years old has been present in the Nigerian political sphere since 1999 when he contested for the position of governor.

5.      Ifeanyi Ubah-
Ifeanyi Ubah is a businessman who is making huge money from oil, real estate, transportation and football. After purchasing a football club in Nigeria, the Nigerian politician has been rumored to wanting to acquire an English football team. In recent times, he has had his eyes on polities.
