Niniola Apata was raised in Lagos State, Nigeria, where she was born on December 15, 1986. She is an Ekiti state native.
Since she was a young child, Niniola has always had a passion for music. She would always find time while attending secondary school to sing any song her friends and classmates ask her to sing for them. Her lovely voice and song repertoire made this possible. She was dubbed “the human radio” as a result. She participated in other social activities and belonged to the school’s cultural organization.
At her late father’s institution, Apata Memorial High School, Niniola started both her primary and secondary schooling. After graduating from high school, she participated in the University of Lagos’ Bachelor’s degree program, where she obtained a Bachelor of Education Certificate in Biology.
Niniola has loved music since she was in secondary school. She plays for free to her students, who serve as her audience. She was so talented that she was chosen to lead the school’s cultural musical ensemble in competitions against other schools and states.
Niniola kept pursuing music after she graduated, and in 2013 she took part in the sixth season of the MTN Project Fame. Despite giving a poor performance, she came in third place overall.
Her debut single, Ibadi, which was produced by Sarz and dropped in March 2014, quickly rose to the top of the charts in Nigeria and throughout Africa. She continued to have success. One of them was Gbowode.
