She enrolled in the Independent Journalism Centre, established by PM News, where she studied journalism after receiving her secondary school leaving certificate (SSCE). Later, she attended the University of Lagos, where she majored in English Language and Literature and graduated.

Like many other Nigerian performers, Niyiola began her career in the children’s chorus at her local church. She and her siblings sang at church. Her desire to pursue a career in music was inspired when she saw a Funmi Adams performance. Niyola came in second place at the AMEN Starlet competition in 2000.
She began her career as a full-time artist in 2005 and briefly worked for eLDee’s Trybe Records. After her tenure at Trybe, she signed a producing deal with Make Sum Noise Entertainment. Her first three songs, “Me n U (In Da Club),” “No More,” and “Dem Say,” were released under this brand. Eniola Akinbo created her debut album after signing with Westside Music Label, which featured hit songs including “Bring It” and “Call My Name.” Thanks to the album’s hits, she was nominated twice for the Hip Hop World Awards.
She created the album’s theme song for the event, as well as jingles for Coca-Cola and a few other significant international businesses, in 2007.
