On Friday, July 22, members of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police command stopped a 29-year-old man by Dauda Yakub from jumping to his death into the Lagos Lagoon.
The police officers noticed the young man sitting on the railing as they were conducting a routine patrol of the Third Mainland bridge. The cops were able to save what may have been a catastrophic loss of life by talking reason into the man.
Later, the Adekunle Police Station received him so they could reconcile him with his family.
In other news, a guy who only went by the name of Kayode committed suicide after being accused of twice raping his neighbor’s daughter at their home in Lagos State’s Oja-Amukoko neighborhood.
Kayode reportedly ingested insecticide and passed away. He was discovered in their backyard, and they brought him to the hospital, where it was determined that he had passed away.
