Habeeb “Portable” Okikiola, a singer from Nigeria, has responded to the Headies Awards’ decision to exclude him from the 15th event.
He was disqualified for being the focus of a criminal investigation and for making threats against his fellow nominees, according to a statement issued by the organizers on Tuesday.
He received nominations for “Best Street Artist” and “Rookie of the Year.”
His disqualification, according to the organizers, is intended to send a clear message that it does not support careless and impolite words.
Portable released a video of himself boasting in response to the news, saying that he does not regret his acts.
I am a child of light. I have fame, I have money, I have cars, I have wives, I have children. I am rich. People know me everywhere. I don’t regret my actions
