President Tinubu appoints new board for NDDC after sacking Buhari’s appointees, full list of members released
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board of directors, chosen by former president Muhammadu Buhari, has been removed by President Bola Tinubu.
Recall that in January 2023, Buhari established the NDDC board, which was presided over by Lauretta Onochie, his former special assistant for new media.
The executive director of finance was Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (retired) of Edo State, while the executive director of projects was Charles Ogunmola of Ondo State.
Others are Elder Denyanbofa Dimaro of Bayelsa State, Dr. Emem Willcox Wills of Akwa Ibom State, Dimgba Erugba of Abia State, Orok Duke of Cross River State, and Dr. Pius Odudu of Edo State.
Also on the board are Anthony Ekenne (Imo State), Gbenga Edema (Ondo State), Elekwachi Dimkpa (Rivers State), Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Abubakar (Nasarawa State) representing North-Central zone), Alhaji Sadiq Sami Sule-Ikoh (Kebbi State, North-West) and Prof. Tahir Mamman, SAN, (Adamawa State, North-East). The managing director was Bayelsa State native Chief Samuel Ogbokwu.
However, the board has been disbanded as a result of Tinubu’s administration announcing new leadership and members.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by Ajuri Ngelale, the president’s spokesperson, Chiedu Ebie has been named the commission’s chairman of the board and Samuel Ogbuku its managing director and chief executive officer (CEO).

The aforementioned appointments are all effective right away.
