Lionel Messi, the midfielder for Paris Saint-Germain, has reminisced on his debut season with the Ligue 1 club.
On Monday, May 30th, 2022, the Argentine gave an interview to Tyc Sports, a sports news organization based in France. The cause for his bad season, according to the South American, was the way he abruptly left Barcelona in the summer.
Following his departure from Barcelona during the previous transfer season, Messi had a shaky start to the season.
Next season will be way better for me with Paris Saint-Germain, I’m sure. It was not easy after that crazy summer. It was really difficult to understand what happened, I wasn’t expecting to leave Barcelona. It was a shock.
In the just-completed 2021/22 football season, Messi scored 11 goals and added 13 assists across all competitions.
