Sowore shades Tinubu as he slepts throughout peace meeting that holds in Abuja
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has come under fire from the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore for falling asleep at a peace agreement in Abuja.
The National Peace Committee meeting, presided over by Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), was held in Abuja on Friday, January 20, 2023, and attendees included Tinubu and Sowore.
According to Abdulsalami, the purpose of the conference was to ensure proper conduct on the part of the candidates, their parties, and other stakeholders, particularly during the election campaigns.
Sowore tweeted several hours after the meeting ended that Tinubu didn’t contribute.
We just returned from a meeting of party leaders/Presidential candidates with the national peace committee in Abuja, the Presidential candidate of The @OfficialAPCNg @officialABAT slept through the meeting, he didn’t say a word. His party chair spoke on his behalf,” Sowore tweeted.
Earlier at the event, Sowore created a scene by protesting over the sitting arrangement, threatening to walk out on the committee and other candidates.
“The sitting arrangement should have been alphabetical, I note that this same thing happened at the ICC during the signing of the peace accord and this is not fair,” he had said.
However, Gen. Abdulsalami said that Sowore could leave if he was still dissatisfied. He had previously assured him that his position had been noted.
