“This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others” ~ Davido brags as he spends over N200 million on orphanages

David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, is a well-known singer in Nigeria who has boasted about donating more than 200 million naira to orphanages all around the country.

Davido announced this in a post on his Instagram page, saying that he has always utilized his platform to help others and that he is happy to do so.

The musician mentioned that the less fortunate had benefited from grants made by his charity, the David Adeleke charity, totaling 237,000,000 naira.

Davido revealed the custom of helping the less fortunate on his birthday began a few years ago when he posted the statement online. He expressed gratitude to everyone who gave and contributed to changing lives, saying that individuals rise by lifting others.

He wrote, “I’ve always wanted to use my platform to serve others. Thankful that through your generosity, I’ve been able to do so. We recently disbursed over N200m to several orphanages in Nigeria, a tradition that started a few years ago around my birthday. Thank you to everyone who donated. With your help, we are changing lives. This is what I mean when I say We rise by lifting others. These are words in action. God bless you all!”
