Tinubu reveals what will happen to “yahoo boy” if he is elected as Nigeria president

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, has pledged to reform and educate the so-called Yahoo Boys, or internet scammers, to become IT specialists.

On January 5, 2023, in Benin, during the party’s presidential campaign held at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) sports complex, the former governor of Lagos State made the pledge.

The presidential candidate claims that his entry into the contest is intended to bring happiness and wealth to Nigerians.

Tinubu said: “We will create jobs, we will turn this state into an energy state, we will turn the so-called Yahoo Boys into experts at the manufacturing of chips.

“If you want prosperity, elect me, you want skill to become rich, elect me. If you say go and retire now, you retire knowledge diamonds, and skills.

“We can defeat poverty, we can break the shackle of poverty, shackle of ignorance, shackle of homelessness. We will do it together.

“We have the knowledge, we have the brain, trust me. I am an expert in finding the way where there is no way. That is the power of thinking and doing.”

In response to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, Tinubu declared

one who does not know the road cannot show the road.”

He continued by calling the endorsement harmful for the nation.

In addition, Tinubu stated that if elected president, he would demand compensation for the money recovered from stolen antiques and make financial commitments to the projected royal museum in Benin.

Earlier, the state is ready to guarantee Asiwaju’s election victory in 2023, according to Davis Imuse, the party’s state chairman.

Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the APC who also spoke, remarked that Tinubu has made significant contributions to the promotion of multiparty democracy in Nigeria and that Asiwaju believed in the unity of the nation.

The governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, referred to the Edo people as being highly devoted in his statement, while also stating that the 19 northern states were committed to electing Tinubu.
