Portable, a Nigerian singer, has apologized to the Headies Awards for threatening other nominees in the same category as himself.
Remember how the Zazuu star warned a few days ago that if any of the awards for which he was nominated were presented to another artist, there would be a problem.
Following the singer’s remark, Headies demanded a public apology from Portable and informed him that he had been reported to the police.
The Headies dissociates itself and any activities relating to the Awards, from any form of violence, abuse, threat or intimidation, and officially request that popular fast-rising Nigerian artiste, @portablebaeby retract his statement in a video published on his social media platform on May 25, 2022, that insinuates acting in a violent manner to other nominated artistes.
The Awards encourages all nominees and fans to celebrate and support each other, and grow the industry of our dreams
Portable apologize for the remark in a video posted late Friday night, but added that they should not be furious because ‘you nominated a crazy.’
The singer, who was nominated in the categories of Rookie of the Year and Best Street-Hop Artiste, stated that he issued the warning because he simply wants to win an award.
