Years after her father abandoned her, a physically challenged woman simply known as Devotha built her mother a house.
The woman who spoke with Afrimax claimed that she was able to construct the house using her technical skills and money earned from menial labor.
Devotha was born with her feet facing backwards in 1999, a handicap that hampered her childhood and adult life, but she refused to give up despite the odds.
People in the neighborhood were already making fun of her before she was discarded by her father.
Her father, on the other hand, crushed her heart when he abandoned her with his wife and went away to start a new family.
It was learned that she was unable to finish her study owing to financial difficulties. That was not the end of her education, however, as the town priest enrolled her in a technical school where she learned about construction.
In a video broadcast by Afrimax TV, she showed off the house and stated that she accomplished all of the construction work herself.
Davotha’s mother, who revealed that her mother spent eight years building the house, called her “my hero.”
When interviewing her mum, she said :
I didn’t know that Devotha could do this for me. She has spent 8 years doing this and she did more than enough.
She is my hero and I am very grateful and will always be grateful.
